Jennifer Payne, Co-Founder and Lead Tutor
Jennifer and her husband, Jeff, co-founded Victory Garden Kids after they wrote a business plan while on their honeymoon 25 years ago that would help children and their parents
work together academically for the benefit and growth of world-changing children. Jennifer is a 20-year veteran classroom teacher, homeschool teacher, and private tutor.
Her mission with VGK is to help children feel confident and valued as learners so that when they are in their classrooms, they can hold their heads high and feel the confidence to try!
Rebecca Buys: Chemistry
Rebecca Buys graduated from Dordt College in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education and Biology, with a field of specialization in English, and a coaching endorsement.
She taught in middle school and high school classrooms in California and then Arizona until the fall of 2016 when she and her husband welcomed their son.
Rebecca now lives in Washington where stays home with her son and she is so excited to be a part of Victory Garden Kids!
Hannah Payne: English/Acting/Singing
Hannah is a senior at UCLA, majoring in English Literature and minoring in Theater. Hannah has a passion for teaching and, after graduation, will join Teach for America as an elementary teacher.
Hannah has been acting and modeling since she was nine years-old and can be seen in the Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why, in the series, How I Met Your Mother, and on Larry King Now as a socialmedia expert.
cheyenne walker: Geometry and science
Cheyenne is an undergraduate Anthropology major at UCLA who loves learning (science is her favorite)! One day, she hopes to become a Nurse Practitioner. In her free time Cheyenne loves to hike, ski, and enjoy the outdoors!
thomas chansler: mathmatics
Thomas is a sophomore at UCLA attending under a mathematics major, with a long-term career goal of becoming a research professor of mathematics. Thomas is available for tutoring mathematics from middleschool to calculus, and looks to exemplify the utility of mathematical thought.
Cameron sinclair: Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus and Calculus, as well as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, French, and ACT/SAT.
Cameron is currently a 3rd year Physiological Science major at UCLA. She has always excelled at and been passionate about learning math and science. As a member of the VGK team, she has been able to utilize her passion to teach others. In addition to Math, Biology, Physics and Chemistry, Cameron helps students with French as well as studying for standardized tests such as the ACT and SAT.
Cameron is hoping to attend med school upon graduation. When she’s not volunteering at Ronald Reagan Hospital or with The American Red Cross, she enjoys going to the beach, exploring LA, and spending time with her friends.
